PintHoppers is an iPhone app that turns visiting pubs into a game. Pick a list, check in at the pubs, finish the list. Every Mile you finish leaves a stamp on your profile.

What is PintHoppers?
An app that turns an area's pubs into lists. Every pub you visit is ticked off, every list you finish counts, every Mile you complete leaves its stamp. The only thing we count is where you have been.
How it works

Pick a list
Start one of the ready-made lists, or make your own.

Check in
When you are there, pick the pub and check in. The server measures the distance; being there is enough.

Finish the list
A list is complete once you have been to every pub on it. On a Mile the pubs come in order, and the time is the rule of the game. A finished Mile's stamp goes on your profile.

No drinks are counted.
Nowhere in PintHoppers is the number of drinks kept, and nothing rewards it. It is not a setting; it is the rule of the app. The reward is the places you go and the routes you finish.

About
Where the name comes from
PintHoppers carries two meanings. To hop is to jump, and a hopper goes from pub to pub; the hop is also the plant that gives beer its bitterness, Humulus lupulus. The app began as PintHunt, a hunt for pubs. The hunt was about the list; today's motto is about the way: Hop from Pub to Pub.

The pubs in the app come from OpenStreetMap and are licensed under the ODbL. The map pictures on this page show that data too: © OpenStreetMap contributors.

When is it out?
Soon, on iPhone first. Once there is a date, it will be here.
What is a Mile?
A list with an order and a time. The pubs come in order, and the time is the rule of the game. The Barlar Sokağı Mile in Kadıköy is four pubs in 120 minutes. Every Mile you finish puts a round stamp on your profile, drawn from the route you walked.
Will it be on Android?
Only iPhone for now.
Do you record my location?
Only when you check in. How long it is kept is in the privacy policy.
Who can use it?
Anyone aged 18 or over.
